Cirque Bijou

Founded in 1999 by co-artistic directors Billy Alwen and Julian Bracey, Cirque Bijou has spent twenty-five years making contemporary circus for occasions that need a moment nobody forgets. They produced circus for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant on The Mall, staged the Take That Circus tour and Muse's world tour, and have worked with Janet Jackson. Their large-scale commissions include Goodwood Festival of Speed — including the fire show for the Drivers' Ball — Camp Bestival, the Taiwan Lantern Festival and Battle for the Winds for London 2012, which ran fifty-two shows across seven counties. They are Festival Supplier Award winners and long-standing partners of the integrated circus company behind Extraordinary Bodies. For private and corporate events the same craft scales down: aerialists above a ballroom, acrobats and fire performers, LED and sway-pole acts, or a fully bespoke show designed around a venue's architecture. A core Bristol production team draws on a roster of thousands of freelance circus artists, choreographers and technicians.
