London Community Gospel Choir

Founded in 1982 by Reverend Bazil Meade, the London Community Gospel Choir began as a one-off concert for 120 voices and never stopped. Four decades on, they remain Britain's most recognisable gospel ensemble. Their voices carry Disney's "Circle of Life" from The Lion King, and they have performed and recorded with Madonna, Elton John, Adele, Tom Jones, P!NK, Gregory Porter, Emeli Sandé and Beverley Knight. The 2009 charity single "I Got Soul" reached number ten in the UK chart, and the choir reached the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent in 2022 — with fourteen albums released since 1983. For private events the choir scales to the room: a six-voice ensemble that lifts a ceremony without overwhelming it, through to the full twenty-plus choir for a reception or gala finale. Repertoire runs from traditional spirituals to soul, pop and contemporary arrangements.
